Are you passionate about nurturing young minds and helping children discover the joy of learning and provide excellence for everyone? Malpas Alport Primary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic reception class teacher to join our fabulous team. The position has arisen due to an increased intake in reception leading to 2 classes for September 2025.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the educational experience of our pupils whilst receiving training and support to develop and progress in their career.
We require a teacher who is passionate about making a difference to the life of every child in their class and is committed to providing challenge for all. As a trauma attuned school, knowledge of attachment friendly and trauma informed techniques and approaches are necessary, but in-school training will be offered to develop and enhance these skills. The post runs from September 2025 for one year initially, with the possibility of becoming permanent depending on pupil numbers the year after.

The successful candidate will support the safeguarding ethos which is a high priority throughout our school and will be subject to enhance DBS and reference checks.
Malpas is a small rural village on the borders of Cheshire, Shropshire, Cheshire East and Wales and has excellent transport links to the A41 and A49.

Responsibilities:
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a love for learning.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the school’s curriculum and the EYFS framework.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement the school's wider curriculum.
- Have experience of teaching and assessing phonics.
- Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing timely feedback to parents and other adults in school.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and school events.
- Maintain a safe and organised classroom that encourages creativity, independence and excellence for everyone.
