Pendle Borough Council is seeking a motivated and experienced Capital Works &amp; Compliance Officer to lead the delivery of capital investment programmes and oversee statutory compliance across a diverse property estate. You’ll manage projects from feasibility through to handover, ensuring schemes are delivered on time, within budget and in line with corporate and statutory requirements. Responsibilities include;

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our repairs and maintenance teams who aspires to be a Chartered Building Surveyor. Candidates must be resilient, enthusiastic, good communicators, have excellent attention to detail and be keen to develop their building surveying skills. You will have opportunities within the teams to gain building surveying experience whilst studying part time towards a RICS accredited Building Surveying degree at one of our accredited Universities. Skills: 1.	Have the entry requirements to enrol on a BSc (Hons) Chartered Surveyor degree apprenticeship of a minimum 112 UCAS points, this can include A levels or BTEC qualifications. 2.	Have an interest in building surveying and a desire to learn and become a Chartered Building Surveyor, any knowledge and awareness of the building surveying role and skills will be an advantage. 3.	Have the capability to undertake research so that you can evaluate different building options such as products or building methods. You will be trained to prepare a specification of work, gain quotations and manage repair work. 4.	Have relevant experience of using all Microsoft packages; in particular be able to demonstrate practical IT skills using Word and Excel spreadsheets to analyse data and be able to use various software packages as part of undertaking a surveying role. You will be trained to use AutoCAD or similar drawing packages to support Building Surveyors by producing planning and building regulations drawings. 5. About the role:
Horsham District Council is looking for&nbsp;a Principal Registered Building Inspector to lead on Building Control matters, to deliver a professional Building Control service and provide supervision to assist with the management of the work of others within the Building Control team.
As the Principal Registered Building Inspector, you will have a varied caseload of work requiring the effective application and understanding of the relevant Building Acts and associated legislation.
The role will involve working on a range of building projects, often in a fast-paced environment.&nbsp;&nbsp;Experience of progressing site inspections, dangerous structure investigations, plan checking and Building Regulation enforcement is essential.
With the emphasis on team approach, you will work closely with others within the team, whilst taking a lead role in some of the more complex developments within the area requiring a confident and professional approach. Although enjoying the support from the Head of Service and Building Control Team Leader, the position will provide autonomy to help further improve the service preparing for a successful future.
The role will include providing cover as part of our out of hours response to dangerous structures (currently under review, additional payment made if called out).

Essential Car User: up to £1,239 pa

About you:
To succeed as an experienced and technically competent Principal Registered Building Inspector, you will have wide ranging experience of plan checking and inspecting varied domestic and commercial schemes – registered as a CLASS 2F.
As a team player, you will be able to demonstrate a problem solving approach to work, with the ability to analyse complex technical information to make informed decisions. You will be an excellent communicator who is also able to supervise and develop others within the Building Control team e.g. trainees, other registered buildings inspectors – as required.
You will have the drive and desire to embrace new ways of working to ensure the Building Control service strives to deliver ongoing service improvements and innovation.
This role involves travelling across the district to various sites and therefore a full and current UK driving licence is essential.

Building Control Surveyor x 2
About the role:
We are looking to appoint 2 self-motivated and ambitious registered Building Control Surveyors to join our highly professional and successful Building Control Team.
You will need to hold min Class 2F or 3 registrations with the Building Safety Regulator and have Chartered Member, Member or Fellow Chartered Member of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) or alternative acceptable professional body.
You will be responsible for undertaking plan assessment, site inspections and enforcement work across a wide spectrum of works ranging from small domestic projects up to large complex commercial developments subject to the Registration class of the successful candidate.
In addition, the role involves assessing and undertaking any reasonable actions to protect the public from dangerous structures, unauthorised works, demolition work and works that form obstructions to the public highway and participation in the Councils out of hours emergency call out service.
About the candidate:
You will have substantial experience and understanding of the role and functions of Building Control and have a sound knowledge of the Building Regulations, Approved Documents, allied legislation and enforcement procedures.
You’ll have experience of dealing with dangerous buildings and structures and implementing enforcement action when necessary.
Hold Corporate Membership of CABE / RICS or acceptable alternative.
You’ll need to hold Class 2F or 3 Registration with the Building Safety Regulator in respect of Plans assessment and inspection activities.
You’ll need to be able to participate in the Councils out of hours emergency call out service.
You will possess excellent communication, interpersonal and IT skills and be able to work both individually and as part of a team.
You will hold a full, valid driving licence and have unrestricted use of a suitable vehicle for business purposes or be able to otherwise demonstrate the ability to travel to locations in an efficient and timely manner.
