Are you passionate about supporting children, young people and families to achieve positive outcomes?

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Family Help team in the High Peak, working directly with children, young people and families to provide targeted support, strengthen parenting capacity and help prevent the escalation of needs.

As a Youth & Family Help Practitioner, you will deliver evidence-based parenting programmes and targeted interventions, working alongside families, schools and partner agencies to improve outcomes for children and young people. You will be supported by the Family Help Senior Practitioner and play a key role within our Early Help and Safeguarding service.

Your role will include:

  • Delivering evidence-based parenting programmes, including the Solihull Parenting Approach and other targeted interventions.
  • Working with children, young people and families both individually and in group settings.
  • Assessing, monitoring and tracking children's progress and outcomes.
  • Supporting young people to access education, employment and training opportunities, including those who are not in education, employment or training (NEET).
  • Working closely with schools, partner agencies and professionals to coordinate effective support plans and Early Help interventions.
  • Supporting safeguarding processes and contributing to Team Around the Family meetings and multi-agency planning.
  • Maintaining accurate records, reports and performance information.

About You

  • We are looking for someone who has experience of working with children, young people and families, and who understands the challenges they may face. You will have experience of partnership working, excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with families, professionals and community partners.
