Salary: £33,531 - £38,052 per annum pro rata to hours worked as part-time
Grade: D
Contract Type: Fixed Term for 1 year
Working Hours: 14.8 hours per week
About the Department
Thurrock Council's Adolescent & Child Exploitation Team are looking for an experienced young adult exploitation prevention worker to join a small and friendly team with a strong commitment to effective performance management, staff well-being, community engagement and partnership working.
About the Role
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for providing direct support to those young people (17 – 25 yrs) leaving care and moving into After care services who are at risk of, or who have experienced gangs and child criminal exploitation. The successful candidate will work towards raising the awareness of exploitation for young people transitioning into early adulthood within colleges and other targeted educational provisions.
This role will involve working across children services, schools, colleges and relevant partners to develop and deliver effective support and interventions for young adults, families, social workers, youth offending service case managers and all other agencies within the Youth justice partnership.
This is a critical role, and the successful applicant must have a proven record of engaging with hard-to-reach young people /adults and an understanding of child exploitation, gangs, county lines and serious youth violence.

- Individuals who understand the complexities faced by young people vulnerable to exploitation as they transition into adulthood.
- We welcome applicants who are alternatively qualified to bring additional specialist support.
This role offers the chance to make a real difference to young people transitioning into adulthood who are at risk of or are being criminally, sexually or financially exploited.
DBS Check: A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at an Enhanced level with Children's Barred List is required for this role.
