Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated primary teacher?
Would you like to join a supportive team in a caring and friendly school community?

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Upper KS2 Class Teacher to join our team at Lantern Lane Primary and Nursery School. Our school has a high-quality curriculum with amazing enrichment activities in PE, music and more. We have fantastic grounds and a supportive local community on our doorstep! We are very proud of the consistently good outcomes for our pupils and their excellent behaviour and attitude to learning. Our links with parents & carers, as well as the local community, are a real strength.

We know that happy and motivated staff are essential to a successful school. That’s why we are always looking at ways of ensuring staff workload is manageable and provide a range of professional development opportunities. We’d like to think we all have a pretty good sense of humour too!

We need teachers who:

  • Share our CARE ethos (Confidence – Achievement – Respect - Enthusiasm)
  • Have high expectations for themselves, colleagues and all children
  • Are committed to providing high quality teaching and learning experiences for all
  • Have excellent communication skills and enjoy being part of a thriving school community
  • Care passionately about developing the whole child, whilst striving for the very best outcomes for our pupils
  • Are dedicated to continued professional development

In return, we can offer you:

  • a professional and supportive team where everyone is valued
  • excellent partnerships between pupils, staff, parents/carers, governors and the school community
  • a calm and orderly learning environment, with a positive and effective behaviour policy
  • high quality professional development within school and through local networks
  • a range of employee benefits
  • dedicated PPA & ECT time and a full programme of support if you are an ECT
  • a commitment to work-life balance and managing workload

Please complete the attached Teachers Application Form, and return to us along with a covering letter outlining your experience and suitability for the position. Please submit your application via e-mail to office@lanternlane.notts.sch.uk

The closing date is 9.00am Monday 23 November 2026.

Completed application forms will be passed to the recruitment panel for shortlisting and will be reviewed against the person specification detailed in the advert. Applications will be assessed upon receipt and we reserve the right to interview and appoint prior to the closing date. An early application is therefore strongly advised.

We warmly welcome visits to the school from prospective applicants. Please e-mail or telephone the school office to book your place.
