Smart are recruiting for a Y1 Class Teacher at North Fawdon Primary School to start in January 2027.

The ideal candidate would have:

• Commitment to the ethos of the school.
• High expectations for pupil achievement, behaviour and personal development.
• The ability to demonstrate excellence in teaching and learning.
• The ability to work as part of a team effectively.
• The ability to establish excellent relationships with children and parents, promoting aspirational achievement and progress for all groups of pupils including children with Special Educational Needs.
• Experience of teaching in either Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) or Year 1.
• Experience of planning and delivering high-quality continuous provision to support learning and independence.
• A secure knowledge of phonics and early reading, including experience of delivering a recognised systematic synthetic phonics programme.
• A strong understanding of child development and effective early learning pedagogy.
• A reflective and collaborative approach to professional development and school improvement.

Your principal place of work will be North Fawdon Primary School but you may be required to work at other Trust sites within Smart Multi Academy Trust, within reason.
