The Waste Collection Loader is a versatile position within Refuse and Cleansing services. This role focuses on delivering reliable, high-quality waste collection, including refuse, recycling, green waste, and food waste for residents of Caerphilly.

The role actively works as part of a team to ensure that Caerphilly can meet its’ waste and recycling targets. The successful candidates will be required to actively contribute to the team to not only deliver but also promote the service.

One of the key areas of responsibility for successful candidates is to deliver excellent customer service and deal with customer queries on waste and recycling issues as they arise. Additionally, the Loader will provide information and guidance to customers on appropriate waste disposal promoting and supporting the principles of waste minimisation and recycling.

The role also includes responsibility for the presentation and upkeep of a vehicle and the basic administration duties such as the completion of data sheets as required.

For the role, we ask that you have:

  • Knowledge of the County Borough and the services provided by the Waste Strategy and Operations Section.
  • Awareness of the importance of the post and how it relates to achieving an improvement in quality of life of Caerphilly residents and environment.
  • The ability to work individually or as part of at team in the provision of quality services.
