Our Team:
Environment Services plays a vital role in delivering a wide range of essential council functions. From keeping our streets clean and managing refuse collections, to maintaining our award-winning parks and open spaces, we take pride in caring for the local environment. Working within our Waste & Recycling services department, you will play a key role in ensuring the timely and efficient collection of household waste and recycling. You’ll be part of a dedicated team that strives for high standards, delivers excellent service and is continually working to improve the quality and sustainability of our services – helping to create cleaner, greener and more welcoming communities for everyone.
Hours: 37 per week
Your Contributions:
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, both verbal demonstrating the ability to communicate clearly and courteously and written, with the capability to complete basic paperwork accurately. They must possess good driving skills, including the ability to manoeuvre large vehicles in restricted or challenging areas. A good level of physical fitness is essential, as the role involves demanding work, often carried out outdoors in all weather conditions. Candidates should be able to work independently using their own initiative, and also contribute effectively as part of a team. A sound awareness of health and safety practices is important, and a willingness to adapt to a flexible working pattern is required.
The candidate must hold a valid HGV licence and possess an up-to-date Driver CPC qualification, both of which are essential requirements for the role. The candidate should have experience driving refuse collection vehicles, demonstrating competence and familiarity with the specific demands of this type of work.
