    Are you passionate about improving local transport services and making a difference in your community?

    We are looking for a proactive and organised individual to join our Highways and Transport team as a Transport Officer. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping and delivering passenger transport services across Rutland

    About the role…

    As a Transport Officer, you will support the planning, commissioning, and monitoring of local bus services, home-to-school transport, and social care transport for both adults and children. You will also help administer the concessionary travel scheme and work closely with transport providers, schools, local residents and internal teams to ensure services are efficient, accessible, and responsive to community needs.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Designing and reviewing local bus services and infrastructure
    • Supporting the delivery of home-to-school and SEN transport
    • Managing contracts and liaising with transport operators
    • Administering the concessionary travel scheme
    • Conducting surveys and analysing transport data
    • Producing timetables and public transport information

    About you…

    We’re looking for someone with:

    • Experience in passenger transport or a similar administrative role
    • Strong communication and organisational skills
    • The ability to analyse data and propose practical solutions
    • A collaborative approach to working with partners and stakeholders
    • A good understanding of transport policy and service delivery
    • A relevant qualification or experience in transport operations or policy is desirable.

    The Transport Officer interviews will be held week commencing 03 November 2025.
