Uttlesford District Council is seeking a qualified and experienced Transport and Workshop Manager to lead the strategic and operational management of our vehicle fleet and workshop. This statutory role requires a valid Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) and a strong focus on legal compliance, safety, and sustainability.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Ensure full compliance with transport legislation and operator licence requirements.</li><li>Manage fleet maintenance, driver training, and safety systems.</li><li>Lead investigations into road traffic incidents and implement improvements.</li><li>Oversee vehicle procurement and the Council's replacement programme.</li><li>Monitor transport budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.</li><li>Support the Council's net zero and climate action goals.</li></ul>Unfortunately, we are unable to consider applications from candidates who require visa sponsorship.
