What will you be doing?

We have an exciting opportunity to join KCC as a Trainee Highway Definition Researcher in our Highway Definitions service

This post will play an important role in the long term delivery of our Highway Definition service, though the provision of highway boundary plans and information on planned highway schemes in response to searches and enquiries.

The role will primarily involve learning to provide information requested, along with undertaking the research needed to produce this. It will require good attention to detail while working with historic documents, maps and data accessed through GIS systems. The role will also include providing quotations and facilitating payments for this service, alongside managing enquiries, comments, complaints and complements to deliver excellent customer service.

As a trainee role, full training will be provided. The successful candidate will be required to complete a structed training programme, in conjunction with obtaining a minimum of 12 months experience, before possible succession into a KSE Highway Definition Researcher role, if appropriate.

The role is based in Kroner House, Ashford, although there are good flexible working opportunities.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
