We’re seeking an enthusiastic and well‑motivated Technician to support the delivery of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) Approval Body functions and Highway Operations Drainage services. In this role, you’ll help meet statutory duties under the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 and Flood Risk Regulations 2009, contributing to the effective maintenance of drainage and highway infrastructure.
You’ll assist with application processing, technical reviews, inspections, asset management, and the investigation of drainage issues. Working collaboratively with engineering, planning and highways teams, you’ll help deliver practical, efficient solutions that support flood risk management across the county borough.
The successful candidate will ideally have practical experience of working in a construction environment and will bring some knowledge and experience of environmental engineering.
For the role, we ask that you have:
- A relevant Level 3 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework. For example BTEC in Engineering.
- General computer literacy with some knowledge in use of Microsoft Office applications and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and to follow set procedures and instructions.
- A full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence to drive a Council vehicle.
