
Technical Support Officer Systems
Join the Staffordshire Pension Fund’s Systems and Data team as a Technical Support Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of our pension administration systems, supporting over 115,000 members and 500 employers. You’ll play a key role in maintaining system integrity, improving processes, and enabling automation and data-driven insights as we prepare for major projects like the Pension Dashboard.
We’re looking for a proactive individual who can combine ICT skills with attention to detail and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. You’ll work across multiple platforms including Altair (administration system), i-Connect (employer portal), Engage (Member portal), and Insights (Tableau Management Information tool), supporting both business-as-usual and strategic projects.
Each Technical support officer has a focus on Systems Support and Data and Reporting working on a Hybrid basis. Please note that this is a Permanent, Full time (37 hrs per week) role but will consider part-time/flexible working.
Main ResponsibilitiesIn this role you'll:
- Support pension administration system users, ensuring data accuracy and compliance, including providing first-line telephone and email support for member/Employer portals and colleagues.
- Process and validate bulk data uploads, employer interfaces, and member updates.
- Investigate and Escalate system errors with 3rd party software providers.
- Investigate and Resolve data discrepancies, and reporting issues.
- Support onboarding of employers and payroll providers to online platforms.
- Assist with user acceptance testing, and new feature rollouts, participating in ad hoc projects and working groups as required..
- Review and interrogate management information dashboards and produce ad hoc reports using Insights (tableau) and Altair (Administration software).
- Contribute to process and system workflow improvements and automation initiatives.
For this role we are looking for you to have Experience:
- Working with case management/workflow systems and bulk data processing.
- Using management information reporting tools such as Tableau and Excel for data analysis.
- Carrying out User Acceptance testing
- Design, delivery and evaluation of software based training (1-2-1 coaching or group settings)
- Proven relevant experience in a financial / pensions / payroll / systems support environment
You will have:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, working on own initiative and completing work within deadlines.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new systems quickly, working flexibly across multiple systems and priorities.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with all members (currently working and paying into the scheme, no longer working, but under retirement age, and pensioners receiving benefits), employers and Pension Fund staff
The selection process will be by interview at our offices in Staffordshire Place, Stafford, and will include a short practical test.
Interviews will be held: 9th and 10th March 2026.

Salary range
- £33,699 - £38,220 per year
