
Team Manager - East Kent Young People's Team
What will you be doing?
We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time and permanent Team Manager in the Young People's Team East, serving Whitstable, Canterbury, Thanet and the surrounding areas. We have various office bases across the area.
The team provides a statutory social work service to young people aged 18 - 25 with learning and/or physical disabilities to prepare for and transition into and through early adulthood.
You will be managing a team of Social Workers and Social Work Assistants, working alongside Children’s Social Work Teams, Adult Social Care Teams and other key agencies, including Health, Education and the voluntary sector.
The successful applicant will be highly motivated, supportive and demonstrate strong leadership qualities, as well as excellent social work knowledge, skills and values to deliver the highest quality service to young people, their families and carers whilst managing the team’s well-being and performance.
You should have extensive post-qualification experience, including experience of supervising staff and in-depth knowledge of legislation, policy and practice relating to young people. A sound understanding of the Care Act and experience of Adult Social Care would be essential, including adult safeguarding and Court of Protection work.
You will have either management experience or specialist knowledge of this particular client group.

Salary range
