Abercrombie Primary School is a lovely, welcoming and well-regarded school at the heart of our community, where children’s happiness, wellbeing and progress sit at the centre of everything we do.

The Headteacher and Governors are seeking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic and caring Teaching and Learning Assistant to join our Early Years team in Nursery.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support our youngest learners as they begin their educational journey. The successful candidate will work alongside teachers and support staff to create a stimulating, nurturing and engaging learning environment, helping children to develop confidence, independence and a love of learning.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Works confidently and collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
    • Has experience of, or a strong interest in, working with young children in an Early Years setting.
    • Is patient, nurturing and committed to helping every child achieve their potential.
    • Can build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
    • Is flexible, enthusiastic and able to contribute to a vibrant learning environment.
    • Has a good understanding of child development and the EYFS curriculum, or is willing to develop this knowledge.

We can offer you:

  • A friendly, supportive and welcoming school community.
    • The opportunity to make a real difference to children's early learning experiences.
    • Ongoing professional development and high-quality training, both in-house and externally.
    • The chance to work alongside experienced and dedicated colleagues who are passionate about Early Years education.
    • Happy, enthusiastic children who enjoy learning and are eager to succeed.

If you are enthusiastic, compassionate and committed to giving children the very best start to their education, we would be delighted to hear from you.

We warmly welcome visits to the school and encourage prospective applicants to come and see our caring and inclusive environment for themselves.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.
