A Personal Assistant is required for a 20-year-old young man with autism and associated learning disabilities.
We are seeking a male worker to provide support and companionship in the community and at home. He enjoys activities such as; using the gym, swimming, bingo, arcades, days out etc.
A Male PA is preferred due to some basic personal care needs and must be a car driver. Mileage will be paid.
The young man is non-verbal but communicates with eye contact, facial expressions, and some basic vocalising and sign.
He has a sunny disposition and enjoys the company of adults.
The ideal candidate will have a positive and outgoing nature, balanced with patience, empathy, and a calm approach.
There are up to 18 hours per week available plus regular monthly holiday and sickness cover (working hours can be flexible to suit all. Days / evenings / overnights / 1 regular shift plus cover).
You will be joining 2 other males that support this young man and will shadow them until you are settled.
We are looking for a someone who has experience working with children/adults with additional needs.
DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post – Cost to be met by the local authority.
