Our waste and cleansing service plays a vital role in keeping the district clean, safe and welcoming for residents and visitors. We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Street Sweeper Litter Picker / Driver to join our Direct Services team.

Everything you need to know:

In this role, you’ll help maintain the cleanliness of roads, footways and public areas across the district. Duties will include street sweeping, litter picking, emptying litter bins and providing cover for public convenience cleaning where required.

This is a physically active role requiring a flexible approach, good customer service skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

What you will be doing:

• Sweeping and litter picking roads, footways and verges
• Emptying litter bins in line with cleansing schedules
• Driving Council vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes where required
• Providing cover for public convenience cleaning
• Following health & safety procedures and Council policies
• Undertaking training and additional duties as required

What you will bring to the role:

• A clean driving licence
• A reliable and responsible approach
• The ability to work independently and within a team
• Good customer service skills
• A flexible attitude and willingness to undertake training
• The physical capability to carry out the duties of the role
