Street Care Operative (Ranger)

Chelmsford City Council's Street Care team are seeking 2 individuals to join our hardworking team. In this varied role, the successful applicants will undertake a wide range of street maintenance tasks; including vegetation cut back, graffiti removal, sign washing and general tidying of public areas. Daily equipment checks will also be the responsibility of the successful applicants to ensure tools remain safe and in good working order.

The successful applicants will deliver high quality street cleaning to help maintain an attractive and well kept environment for residents, businesses, and visitors. These roles make a meaningful contribution to enhancing the overall quality of life across the city.

Applicants will need a full driving licence enabling the driving of vehicles up to 7,500kg, along with driving licence rights or a Trailer Towing Certificate. A strong understanding of safe working practices and risk assessments is essential, alongside a genuine commitment to providing a high quality service to the public. Post holders must also be able to undertake manual tasks involving cleaning, lifting and operating machinery. A responsible attitude and a commitment to safe working practices are essential.

The working hours for this role is 37 hours per week, usually worked Monday to Thursday 6am - 2pm and Friday 6am - 1:30pm.
