Social Worker (Unprogressed) - Children's Records Team
Our vision is for Newcastle to be a great place to grow up, where every child and young person is safe and loved, healthy and happy, and ready for their next steps.
We're looking for a motivated and thoughtful social worker to join our specialist Children's Records Team. This is an exciting opportunity to use your social work skills in a different way, supporting children, young people, care-experienced adults and families to access information about their lives while developing expertise in a specialist and growing area of practice.
About the Role
Every year, people contact Children's Social Care seeking access to records that form part of their personal story. For many, this information can help them better understand their childhood, family history, identity and experiences.
As a Social Worker within the Children's Records Team, you will review records, analyse sensitive information and contribute to professional decisions about what can be shared safely, lawfully and appropriately. You will work closely with experienced colleagues, teams across Children's Services and partner agencies to ensure requests are managed to a high standard and within statutory timescales.
This role offers the opportunity to build specialist knowledge while continuing to apply the values, skills and professional curiosity that are central to good social work practice. As part of Children & Families Newcastle, you will contribute to our Families First vision and our commitment to treating children, families and care-experienced adults with dignity, compassion and respect.
