At Bath & North East Somerset Council we have one overriding purpose – to improve people’s lives.

Would you like to join an innovative, enthusiastic mental health team committed to delivering high-quality services?

Are you passionate about supporting people experiencing mental health challenges, predominantly those of working age?

Do you take a person-centred, strengths-based approach to social work and embody strong social work values?

If so, join our well-established, passionate, integrated community mental health team and support people to work towards their recovery goals.

About the Team

We are looking for an experienced, registered social worker to join the Bath and North East Somerset Mental Health Recovery Team.

The Recovery Team provides a specialist mental health pathway for people whose mental ill health has a significant impact on their wellbeing.

Our dynamic, integrated, multidisciplinary team brings together colleagues from the local authority and AWP Mental Health Partnership. You will be based alongside, and work collaboratively with, nursing colleagues, allied health professionals, clinical psychologists, medics and support workers.

About the Role

You will have opportunities to develop specialist skills and pursue interests in different treatment pathways, while being supported to practise fully as a social worker with people who often have complex needs and presentations.

We are proud to be fostering a diverse workforce that reflects our communities. A key commitment to this is improving staff representation from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, those from LGBTQ+ communities and people living with disabilities.

You will work across the rural areas of North East Somerset and the city of Bath. All colleagues must be flexible and able to work across the whole of Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES) and beyond. As this is a multi disciplinary role where there is a reliance on shared risk assessment and management, office based working is key to the success of this approach.

About You

You will bring a passion for working with people with severe and enduring mental health needs, alongside a commitment to supporting their individual recovery goals. You will also have the experience needed to work as a senior social worker, providing leadership and professional expertise and supporting more junior colleagues.

For more information or an informal conversation about the role, please contact Frankie Orchard, Team Manager: f.orchard@nhs.net, Elli Terry, B&NES Senior Practitioner: Elleanor.Terry@nhs.net Telephone: 01225 731631.
