Are you ready to lead a service that helps people stop smoking and improves health across North East Lincolnshire?

Can you inspire a high-performing team, turn evidence into action and make high-quality stop smoking support accessible to the people who need it most?

We're looking for a Smoking Cessation Service Manager to help shape a smokefree future while reducing health inequalities across our communities. This is a full time, permanent opportunity to join a passionate team within a dedicated public health service.

What will your day look like?

You will provide leadership, direction and oversight for North East Lincolnshire’s Smoking Cessation Service, shaping the planning and delivery of a high-quality, evidence-based service and associated tobacco control initiatives. You will set a clear direction for the team, oversee performance, quality, governance and resources, and ensure the service delivers measurable improvements in population health.

You will lead service development and continuous improvement, using insight, evidence and performance information to identify priorities, address risks and improve outcomes. This includes accountability for third-party commissioning and contract management, robust monitoring and evaluation, and reporting to local and national bodies.

Working across organisational boundaries, you will build strong partnerships with Council services, the NHS, Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board and voluntary and community organisations. You will champion smoking cessation, strengthen referral pathways and help develop the wider public health workforce through training and capacity building.

You will lead, support and develop a multidisciplinary team, fostering an inclusive, values-led and high-performing culture in which colleagues are clear about expectations and equipped to deliver safe, effective and person-centred support.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced and credible leader with specialist knowledge of smoking cessation, tobacco control, behaviour change and the wider determinants of health. You will understand how deprivation and other inequalities affect smoking prevalence and access to support and will be committed to improving outcomes for priority population groups.

You will bring significant experience of leading and developing services and multidisciplinary teams, managing change and transformation, and delivering measurable outcomes within agreed budgets and timescales. You will be confident in setting direction, managing performance and using evidence, data and innovation to drive service improvement.

Excellent communication, influencing and partnership skills are essential. You will be able to engage senior stakeholders, explain complex information clearly and build effective relationships across local government, health and the voluntary and community sector. You will also have a sound understanding of relevant national guidance, governance, equality, safeguarding, information governance and people management requirements.

You will be educated to degree level in a relevant health or social care field, or have equivalent relevant experience, together with a management qualification or equivalent management experience and a strong commitment to continuing professional development.

Why join us?

This is an opportunity to lead an important public health service with a clear ambition: to reduce smoking prevalence, improve health and narrow inequalities across North East Lincolnshire. You will have the scope to shape the service, influence wider systems and establish it as a recognised centre of excellence.

You will join a supportive public health team that values people, openness, honesty, integrity, commitment and continuous improvement. We encourage collaborative working, professional development and innovative approaches that translate evidence into better outcomes for residents.

Alongside the opportunity to make a visible difference, you will benefit from flexible working, excellent training and development opportunities, generous annual leave, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme and the wider RewardNEL package.
