Site Maintenance Officer
Salary Scale: Grade 5, SCP 6 to 11 (depending on experience)
£25,989.00 to £28,142.00 pro rata. Hourly Rate £13.47 to £14.59.
7am to 9.30am and 3pm to 6pm. 5.5 hours per day.
St Saviour’s Catholic Primary and Nursery School is looking to appoint a Site Maintenance Officer to start on Monday 3rd November.
This position will be for 27.5 hours per week, between 39 and 52 weeks per year to be discussed.
We are looking for a friendly, caring and motivated person with plenty of energy who can join our hardworking team to ensure the maintenance, safety and security of our school building for our pupils, staff and visitors.
The successful candidate should:
- have a good standard of general education
- have strong general maintenance skills
- be able to perform the physical tasks required which include lifting, carrying and pushing equipment
- have basic IT skills
- be able to follow written and spoken instructions
- have excellent communication skills - with an ability to treat people in a respectful and inclusive manner
- be able to work independently, as well as in a team, and to show initiative and self-motivation

Key duties include being a key-holder, completing and updating risk assessments, checking fire alarm points, monitoring water temperatures, checking equipment, liaising with outside contractors, snow clearance and gritting in bad weather, general maintenance jobs around the school and other duties as required.
The successful applicant will also be expected to carry out, to a high standard, simple plumbing repairs, simple joinery, repair of some equipment, decorating and some grounds maintenance. Experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
