We’re home to the most important conversations happening today and we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.

What You’ll Be Doing / How You’ll Be Involved

This role is an exciting opportunity to join Camden’s Single Homeless Commissioning Team as a Commissioning Manager. Covering the delivery of our rough sleeping services and supported accommodation services, the team’s aims are to reduce rough sleeping in Camden, improving the wellbeing of those who are rough sleeping, and commissioning high quality services to deliver these objectives. The borough’s new Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy is currently being produced and represents an opportunity to further deliver high quality services to people rough sleeping.

You will be responsible for commissioning a range of specialist support services for people who are street homeless, ensuring people receive high quality support to end their homelessness. You will complete key commissioning activities, including needs analyses, business cases, and service designs, in addition to regular contract management and quality assurance practices. You will ensure services are co-produced with those who use them, that they provide value for money, and that they are delivered through trauma, gender and culturally informed approaches. You will drive the integration of services across Adult Social Care, mental and physical health, and other key partners as well as supporting commissioning activities in the Adult Pathway.

We’re looking for someone who brings both innovation and collaboration to their work, and is motivated by the opportunity to improve services for people experiencing street homelessness. You’ll be confident leading commissioning exercises—from designing service specifications and analysing impact, to monitoring contracts and driving improvements. You’ll understand how to assure quality through audits and reviews, and you’ll be passionate about involving service users in shaping the support they receive.

You’ll have a strong grasp of safeguarding, homelessness legislation, and commissioning practices, and be able to apply this knowledge in a strategic and integrated way. Working across services and systems, you’ll help align rough sleeping provision with Camden’s wider aims, building partnerships and leading change. You’ll be comfortable managing multiple projects at pace, mobilising short-term initiatives, and working to tight deadlines. Whether you’re negotiating with providers, responding to FOIs, or briefing senior leaders, you’ll communicate clearly and confidently, always with attention to detail and a focus on outcomes.
