Severe Weather Emergency Provision (SWEP) Co-ordinator

Job Introduction

We’re looking for a proactive and compassionate Severe Weather Emergency Provision (SWEP) Coordinator to lead our response when severe weather puts people experiencing rough sleeping at increased risk.

Working closely with outreach teams, local authorities, and partner agencies, you will coordinate emergency accommodation and access to person centred support, ensuring services are responsive and inclusive. Combining strategic oversight with hands on delivery, you will help people stay safe, access ongoing support, and move towards sustainable housing.

Working collaboratively with countywide teams, you will turn learning from each SWEP activation into service improvements and creating stronger pathways into accommodation and ongoing support.

.You will;

• Lead, coordinate, and deliver the five Local Authority’s Severe Weather Emergency Provision (SWEP) during periods of extreme weather, including cold weather, heatwaves, flooding, and severe storms.
• Ensure that robust systems are in place to mobilise emergency accommodation and life-saving support for individuals experiencing rough sleeping, with the primary aim of preventing loss of life and reducing harm.
• Provide strategic leadership with operational delivery, ensuring a coordinated, multi-agency, and person-centred response while maintaining compliance with statutory guidance, safeguarding responsibilities, and local authority requirements.
• Be qualified to A level standard with 5 GCSEs including Maths and English 4-9
• Have a minimum of one years demonstrable experience in homelessness services, housing options, or rough sleeper outreach.

You will be required to provide a suitable vehicle for this post

This job includes duties that may require an element of physical exertion and mobility on an occasional or frequent basis

The post is open to hybrid working.

Flexible approach to working hours, able to work outside normal office hours if necessary
