Job Introduction

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and improve waste services for local residents across East and North Hertfordhsire. You'll use data, project management and collaborative working to support service improvement, monitor performance and deliver positive outcomes for our communities. You’ll progress the development of our waste management IT systems, online reporting tools, dashboards and complex datasets. A key part of your role will be to manage performance reporting, including developing dashboards, analysing complex datasets, and identifying service trends to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement. Working closely with contractors, software providers, and internal teams, you’ll ensure our systems are robust, user-friendly, and aligned with strategic goals. The role combines performance management, project delivery and stakeholder engagement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys using information to solve problems and drive continuous improvement.

The Experience you will bring

You will have experience of working in a performance, project, business improvement or operational role, with a strong understanding of how data, systems and processes can support effective service delivery. You will be confident in analysing performance information, identifying trends and producing meaningful reports and dashboards to support decision-making and service improvement. Experience of using performance reporting tools, such as Power BI or similar systems, would be advantageous.

You will bring experience of delivering projects and managing change, working collaboratively with colleagues, contractors and software providers to improve systems and services. A good understanding of business systems, data quality and process improvement is essential, together with experience of working with waste management systems and supporting system integrations to ensure efficient and effective service delivery. Knowledge of financial processes, including reconciliation and income monitoring, particularly within operational services, would be advantageous. Knowledge of GIS mapping and digital self-service platforms would also be advantageous. Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills are key, together with the ability to work effectively within a job-share arrangement and also the wider team.
