
Senior Supervisor (Maintenance)
Job introduction
We are looking for a Maintenance Senior Supervisor to work within our Public Toilets team. You will be part of a friendly and supportive operational management team. You will be highly organised and experienced in the trades, specifically plumbing and be able to direct and supervise maintenance staff. This busy role will involve maintaining public toilets, undertaking plumbing and other maintenance work, planning future works, ordering necessary parts, supervising staff and supporting the development and improvement of this vital public service.

About the role
The Public Toilets Senior Supervisor (Maintenance) will take responsibility for the day-to-day operations throughout the city for the maintenance and plumbing service for public toilets and toilets in buildings associated within Environmental Services
The position will also support the Operations Manager in planning, organising, and coordinating day-to-day operations for the Public Toilets service.
The role will involve line managing Multi Skilled Operatives as well as assisting the Operations Manager in supervisory duties of Toilet Cleansing Operative staff.
The role will also be responsible for identifying and implementing safe working practices and identifying and organising training for public toilet staff.
It will also include daily supervision of public toilet staff with a focus on maintenance, attending meetings and liaising with the management when required, and responding to queries and complaints where necessary.

- Monitoring workforce performance against targets to ensure all daily/weekly/monthly KPIs are met. Address any ongoing issues as appropriate.
- Ensuring that all company policies and procedures and legal obligations are understood and adhered to by all members of staff.
- Developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with customers.
- Help management carry out safety training on a regular basis for all staff.
- Ensuring that safety checks are carried out on a regular basis.
Shift Pattern
- 12:30pm - 20:30pm Mon-Fri with every 3rd weekend ‘On Call’ during the summer months (April-September). Additional payments made for on-call and weekend cover.
- 10:00-18:00 during the winter months (October-March)
- Applicants for the role must hold a full clean driving licence.
Additional information
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.

Salary range
- £33,366 - £37,938 per year
