We’re building a borough where it’s easier, safer and more enjoyable to walk, cycle and travel. As part of Enfield’s Journeys and Places programme, we’re investing in projects that support sustainable transport and public space improvements. We're now looking for a Senior Road Safety Engineer to help ensure our streets are designed and delivered with safety at their heart.
About the role
You’ll lead on the road safety aspects of projects from concept through to completion. Working closely with our transport planners, engineers and engagement teams, you’ll provide expert advice to ensure schemes comply with national and local standards – and align with our Vision Zero and Healthy Streets commitments.
This is a key technical role within a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You’ll analyse road traffic collision data, develop safety interventions, lead Road Safety Audit (RSA) processes, and support wider policy and programme work. You’ll also work directly with stakeholders including Transport for London, the Metropolitan Police, and local communities.
We’re always looking to improve what we do. This is a newly created role, and you’ll have the opportunity to shape how road safety is embedded into project delivery and the wider service.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone with a strong grasp of road safety engineering, including collision analysis, RSA processes and relevant policy frameworks. You’ll be a confident communicator with the ability to translate technical insight into practical solutions. You’ll need to be comfortable working independently and able to provide sound professional judgement that is aligned with our strategic aims.
