About the Post:
As Senior Public Health Intelligence Analyst, you will provide specialist public health intelligence and analytical support to inform needs assessment, commissioning, service planning, performance management, and decision-making. You will undertake complex analysis and interpretation of health, care, and wider determinants data, working independently on allocated projects and exercising professional judgement within an agreed framework.
You will produce analytical outputs such as reports, dashboards, needs assessments, briefings, and visualisations, presenting findings in a way that is accurate, accessible, and tailored to different audiences. You will also support effective data sharing, data quality, and information governance, working with colleagues and partners across the Council, NHS, UKHSA, ICB and voluntary sector.
About you
We’re looking for someone with experience in public health intelligence, health analytics, or a related analytical field. You will be confident analysing and interpreting complex datasets, using appropriate statistical, epidemiological, and analytical methods to produce robust insight that supports better decisions.
You will need a degree-level qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent experience, alongside evidence of continuing professional development. Postgraduate study or specialist training in public health, epidemiology, statistics, health intelligence, or a related discipline would be desirable.
A strong understanding of information governance, data protection, confidentiality, data sharing, and data quality requirements is essential, particularly when working with sensitive public sector data.
You will be able to communicate complex findings clearly in written, verbal, and visual formats, build effective working relationships with colleagues and partners, manage competing priorities, and contribute to continuous improvement in how we use data, evidence, and intelligence.
