Senior Practitioner – Child and Family Assessment Team at Thurrock Council – Grays

Basic Salary £45,624 - £52,038 per annum (Plus a Market Factor Supplement of £6,000 per annum)*

Grade: F

Permanent Contract

37 Hours per Week

Are you a Senior Practitioner looking for a new challenge?

We are seeking an energetic, passionate experienced Senior Practitioner who can join our Child & Family Assessment Team. Thurrock provides an opportunity to develop good social work practice and work with an ambitious, supportive management team. It would be beneficial for the post-holder to have at least 2 years' experience at Senior Practitioner level in this area of work.

Rated ‘Outstanding’ across all areas by Ofsted in 2024, Thurrock Council are now looking forward to not only maintaining an outstanding rating, but striving to make further improvements in our service delivery. We are seeking a skilled Senior Practitioner who has the professional potential and personal attributes that our Social Workers and Families Need, and who wants to be supported to flourish.

Managing your own workload but supporting the Team Manager by supporting Social Workers, NQSW’s and students. We expect Senior Practitioners to model best practice and to support the development of the team and the workers. We expect the Senior Practitioners in the team to support the manager by keeping up to date with new proposals and initiatives, legislation, council polices and departmental procedures and that these are customer-focused and of the highest possible quality.

Thurrock has a friendly and supportive Children’s Services Directorate and we work within the Signs of Safety model, use a contextual safeguarding approach and are passionate about developing social work staff with a good training and development offer.

A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at an Enhanced level with Children's Barred List is required for this role.
