Harborough District Council is seeking an experienced Senior Operator to join our Lifeline Control Centre. If you enjoy working with and supporting vulnerable people, have excellent communication skills, and want to be part of a friendly team, then this role is for you.
The Council’s Lifeline Control Centre provides an emergency telecare alarm system (‘Technology Enabled Care’) that supports vulnerable residents 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. It also receives and manages general enquiries outside of office hours. The lifeline service operates within the Harborough district and also provides the service to a number of local councils and other partners/organisations.
Working during office hours, the role will oversee the day-to-day provision of the Lifeline Service. This includes ensuring Lifeline service remains operational, and procedures are kept up to do date to provide high quality services meeting both customer needs and Council objectives.
Working alongside the Control Centre Manager, you will on a daily basis ensure the service is fully resourced, and the equipment that supports these critical services is maintained and operational. You will undertake marketing opportunities to promote the service to new clients, provide the manager with statistical reports and information to help ensure continued improvement. When needed you will be required to deputise for the Control Centre Manager such as attendance at meetings.
An understanding of information technology and its application in supporting customers, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to solve problems and works under pressure are essential.
Although this role is required to work during office hours, from time to time the successful candidate may be required to work outside normal office hours and act as emergency contact on a rotating basis for which time off in lieu will be given or appropriate overtime payments authorised.

Salary range
- £31,022 - £33,699 per year
