Senior Cleaner
Ackworth Howard CofE School is seeking a reliable, conscientious and highly organised Cleaning Supervisor to join our premises team. This is a position of responsibility within our school, working closely with the Caretaker to ensure our premises are clean, safe, secure and welcoming.
The successful candidate will lead and supervise our cleaning team, organise cleaning routines and maintain consistently high standards across the school. The role also includes evening key-holder responsibilities, including securing the school premises at the end of the working day.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Takes pride in maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Has relevant cleaning experience and the ability to lead and support others.
- Is reliable, organised and able to work independently using their own initiative.
- Can organise workloads and ensure agreed cleaning standards are consistently met.
- Understands health and safety, hygiene and safe working practices, including COSHH.
- Is trustworthy and confident in undertaking key-holder and premises security responsibilities.
- Works positively and collaboratively with the Caretaker and wider school team.
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Supervising and supporting the cleaning team and organising daily cleaning routines.
- Undertaking cleaning duties and monitoring standards across the school.
- Monitoring cleaning equipment, materials and supplies.
- Ensuring safe working practices and appropriate use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Reporting maintenance, health and safety or security concerns.
- Working collaboratively with the Caretaker to support the effective management of the premises.
- Acting as an evening key holder and ensuring the school is safely and securely locked at the end of the day.
