SEND Placement Assistant / Children's Services Commissioning Team

Knowsley Council is seeking a highly organised and motivated Placement Assistant to join our Children's Services Commissioning Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in identifying, securing and monitoring high-quality care and education placements for children and young people, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), looked after children and those with complex care needs.
About the Role
As a SEND Placement Assistant, you will support the effective matching of children and young people to suitable education, care and therapeutic provision. You will work with a range of internal and external stakeholders to identify placement solutions, coordinate placement activity and maintain strong relationships with providers.
Key Responsibilities
Support placement searches and matching processes.
Liaise with Social Workers, SEND Case Workers and providers.
Support contracts, placement documentation and monitoring.
Maintain accurate records, databases and reports.
Contribute to quality assurance, market oversight and sufficiency activities.
About You
You will have knowledge of SEND, looked after children and care provision; strong communication and negotiation skills; understanding of contractual arrangements, safeguarding, provider management and excellent IT skills.

Salary range
- £33,119 - £34,811 per year
