
School Crossing Patrol
We are recruiting a School Crossing Patrol at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 5.50 (1 hour 10 minutes – Monday – Friday)
Contract Type: Permanent, Part Time, Term Time Only
Location: Cefn Fforest Primary School
Team: Transport Strategy and Road Safety

We pay an attractive salary of £13.26 - £13.47 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of the safe crossing of pupils and other pedestrians going to and from school, ensuring their health and safety at all times.
The postholder will be responsible for providing information regarding changes of area patrolled which may require a risk assessment.
You will comply with our policies and ensure regulations are adhered to, within the School Crossing Patrol Guidelines and Handbook. You must be an effective communicator and will be expected to liaise with management, parents, learners and the school successfully.
As part of this role, you will be required to undertake training which will be accessed online.
For the role, we ask that you have:
- A good understanding of road use and traffic awareness.
- Manual Handling skills where necessary (distribution of ‘Green Cones’)
- The ability to deal with challenging behaviour.
