The Role
Come and join a dynamic, ambitious and caring team at the heart of improving outcomes for children, young people and families in Bolton.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in leading and coordinating Bolton's multi-agency safeguarding arrangements at a time of significant transformation through our Families First programme.
As Safeguarding Children Partnership Business Manager, you will support statutory safeguarding partners to deliver their responsibilities, drive continuous improvement across the partnership, and ensure that children remain at the centre of everything we do.
You will be working closely with Bolton's Safeguarding Partners, leading the strategic and operational business of the Bolton Safeguarding Children Partnership (BSCP). You will help ensure the partnership has strong governance, effective scrutiny, robust assurance arrangements and a clear understanding of how well services are working together to identify need early and safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
Working across organisations and professional boundaries, you will bring together safeguarding intelligence, performance information, audit findings, practice learning and the voices of children and families to identify strengths, risks and opportunities for improvement. Your leadership and professional judgement will inform strategic decision-making, partnership priorities and system-wide improvement activity.
This role is much more than partnership administration. You will be a key driver of collaboration, learning and change across Bolton's safeguarding system, supporting partners to work together effectively.
You will lead and coordinate partnership business planning, oversee the delivery of the partnership's annual priorities, support Rapid Reviews and Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews, coordinate the multi-agency workforce development strategy and maintain strong links across domestic abuse, community safety, adult safeguarding and MAPPA arrangements.
As a senior manager within the wider children's safeguarding system, you will provide support and challenge to senior leaders across partner agencies, represent Bolton at local, regional and national forums and play a key role in ensuring the partnership is prepared for current and emerging safeguarding challenges.
If you are passionate about safeguarding, committed to partnership working and excited by the opportunity to influence strategic change and improve outcomes for children and families, we would love to hear from you.
Why Join Bolton?

- Work alongside senior leaders from Children's Services, Health, Police and partner agencies.
- Influence strategic decision-making and system-wide improvement.
- Mature our culture of learning, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Lead meaningful work that directly improves outcomes for children, young people and families.
- Be part of a supportive, innovative and values-driven leadership team.
About You

You will have:
- Significant experience of leading safeguarding activity within a multi-agency environment.
- Excellent knowledge of safeguarding legislation, policy and statutory guidance.
- Experience of driving improvement through partnership working, performance analysis and learning from review activity.
- Strong leadership, influencing and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to provide constructive support and challenge to senior leaders and partner organisations.
- Experience of managing complex programmes of work and delivering successful change.
