    Making A Difference as A Highways & Street Works Inspector in Highways & Infrastructure

    An exciting opportunity has arisen to join as a Road & Street Works Operative within Highways Maintenance at St Helens, to help us drive forward and support the delivery of the Council’s ambitious strategy. We want you to be part of our new team that is tasked with making us a leading highway authority, efficiently managing, maintaining, and improving our network and supporting economic growth.

    With a Capital programme exceeding £30m and some of the region’s biggest transport schemes underway, including the regeneration of the Town Centre and Earlestown, the highways service has never had a more integral role to play. To ensure these programmes of work are successfully delivered we are looking to bolster our Highway maintenance Team.

    We are looking to recruit a Road & Street Works Operative who will be required to assist the Highways Maintenance Team with all aspects relating to the management, improvement, and maintenance of the Highway.

    They should be experienced in highways maintenance and possess the relevant skills to undertake a wide range of reactive maintenance activities such as tarmac, flagging, kerbing, and drainage repairs as well as other associated highway works i.e., installation of street furniture, ironwork, ancillary item.

    Candidates must have a knowledge of Chapter 8 signing, lighting, and guarding regulations. NRSWA qualification would be desirable.

    A current driving licence is essential. LGV (Category C) licence would be desirable.
