The Children and Young People department is seeking a customer-focused and proactive Recruitment & Talent Engagement Officer to join our team. Based within the wider Council Workforce and Learning Team function this is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future workforce of Children and Young People by delivering an outstanding recruitment experience and promoting our organisation as an employer of choice.

Working closely with recruiting managers, HR colleagues and external partners, you will coordinate recruitment activity, support innovative attraction campaigns and help ensure we recruit and retain the talented professionals who support children, young people and families across our services. This role acts as a first point of contact for prospective employees, delivering a professional and responsive recruitment service whilst enhancing our employer brand and reputation.

About the Role

As Recruitment & Talent Engagement Officer, you will:

  • Coordinate recruitment campaigns across a wide range of Children and Young People roles.
  • Manage vacancy advertisements across multiple recruitment platforms and social media channels.
  • Provide a professional and responsive service to applicants, managers and stakeholders.
  • Support hiring managers to attract the best candidates into critical and hard-to-fill roles.
  • Organise interviews, assessment centres and recruitment events.
  • Produce recruitment correspondence and maintain accurate recruitment records.
  • Support the development of employer branding, attraction campaigns and recruitment marketing initiatives.
  • Analyse recruitment performance data and contribute to workforce planning activity.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision and support to Recruitment Officers where required.

About You

We are looking for a motivated individual who can build strong relationships and provide exceptional customer service.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience of coordinating recruitment, resourcing or HR processes.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of working with recruitment systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • A passion for candidate attraction, recruitment marketing and employer branding.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with managers, colleagues and external partners.

Workplace Attendance: Working in the office 3+ days a week (pro-rata) or Onsite full time
