    About Camden

At Camden, we’re building somewhere everyone can thrive. We want our borough to be the best place to live, work, study and visit. We’re home to bold ideas and radical social change – and we’re making sure no one gets left behind. Join us, and you’ll help shape a better future for everyone.

    The role

We’re looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead procurement activity within Camden’s Gas Servicing and Maintenance service.

In this role, you’ll manage the end-to-end purchasing process – from raising orders and coordinating suppliers, to auditing invoices and monitoring stock. You’ll make sure our teams have the right materials, at the right time, to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality services to Camden’s residents.

You’ll work closely with suppliers, contractors, and colleagues across our Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) teams, ensuring compliance with Camden’s procurement policies while driving value for money and efficiency.

    What you’ll do

    • Manage day-to-day procurement for gas servicing and maintenance.

    • Raise purchase orders and ensure compliance with contract pricing and terms.

    • Monitor supplier performance and address delivery or quality issues.

    • Audit invoices, resolve mismatches, and maintain accurate financial records.

    • Support stock management, forecasting demand, and coordinating restocks.

    • Manage warranty claims and faulty parts returns with suppliers.

    • Provide data and reports to support financial monitoring, pricing reviews, and supplier performance reviews.

    • Act as a key link between operational teams and suppliers.

    About you

We’re looking for someone who is organised, detail-focused, and confident in managing suppliers and procurement processes. You’ll bring:

    • Experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain coordination – ideally in maintenance, construction, or a direct labour organisation.

    • Strong financial accuracy, with skills in invoice auditing and reconciliation.

    • Good IT skills, including finance/procurement systems and Excel.

    • The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment.

    • Excellent communication skills for working with suppliers and internal teams.

    Desirable:

    • Familiarity with gas servicing or M&E materials.

    • Public sector or contract framework experience.

    • Knowledge of housing/property management systems (e.g. NEC, ROCC).

    • CIPS Level 3 (or willingness to work towards it).
