Do you enjoy the great outdoors, with skills and experience in managing public rights of way, trails, and countryside access? If so, this could be the job for you.

Devon County Council is recruiting for a warden to provide a lead role in day-to day management and maintenance of the public rights of way, unclassified county roads, and countryside access network, particularly to the north of the County (based from South Molton).

We are responsible for some of the UK’s most popular and well-regarded recreational trails, local routes, and paths. This includes enhancing and promoting the County’s network of over 5000 km of paths - helping to encourage and support health and wellbeing, environmental sustainability, and economic vitality.

Educated to degree level and/or with substantive work-based training and experience in countryside, access and land management, you will have good working knowledge of relevant legislation, and associated powers and duties. Good interpersonal skills are also required. Key areas of focus will include co-ordinating maintenance and improvement works, path inspections and surveys, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and liaison with landowners, interest groups, town and parish councils and contractors.

The closing date is 12midnight on 1st November.

Interviews are scheduled in person for Friday 20th November or Monday 23rd November.
