Are you passionate about property management, housing standards and delivering safe, high-quality accommodation for residents?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Property and Assets Housing Officer to join our Property Services team. This key role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management, maintenance and statutory compliance of the Council's temporary accommodation portfolio, ensuring properties remain safe, compliant and fit for purpose.

Working across our housing accommodation portfolio, you will coordinate repairs, planned maintenance programmes and compliance activities, whilst developing strong working relationships with contractors, colleagues and external partners. You will play a vital role in ensuring residents live in safe, well-maintained accommodation and that the Council meets its legal and regulatory responsibilities.

The successful candidate will have experience of property or asset management, a strong understanding of compliance and health and safety requirements, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy and rewarding environment. You will be organised, proactive and capable of using data and performance information to drive service improvements.

Key requirements include:

  • Experience of managing property assets from a compliance and legal perspective.
  • Knowledge of housing, landlord and tenant, and homelessness legislation.
  • Experience of managing contractors and monitoring performance.
  • Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyse data and produce performance and KPI reports.
  • Full UK driving licence.

The post will typically involve:

  • 2 days based at the Council Offices
  • 2 days visiting temporary accommodation sites
  • 1 flexible working day
