PROCUREMENT SUPPORT OFFICER

25 hours per week

Salary range £32,155 to £35,026 pro rata, per annum

An excellent opportunity has been created to join our small but dynamic procurement team. You will assist the Procurement Officer in offering support and advice to all departments responsible for procuring goods, works and services, ensuring compliance with our internal procedures, procurement regulations and that excellent value for money is achieved.

As well as working directly with internal services and organisations bidding for work from the Council, you will help administer the e-procurement system and oversee the maintenance and monitoring of the council’s contracts register.

Ideally, you’ll therefore need knowledge and experience of working in these key areas – procurement and contract management, backed by a solid education at GCSE-level, including Grade 4 in English and Maths (or equivalent).

Full training will be provided on the job and we can also offer the opportunity to attain your CIPS qualification, if you would like to study and develop your professional knowledge.

We expect all our employees to live by and demonstrate our values and behaviours that lay the foundations of how we work. If you share our values, we would love to hear from you. We will be looking at how you demonstrate these during the application, interview and selection process.

In return, we can offer you a supportive work environment with agile working and flexible working hours, great opportunities for development and an excellent range of benefits, including a generous annual leave allowance, free car parking on site, staff restaurant, subsidised leisure facilities and membership of the local government pension scheme.

We support our staff to optimise their time and balance work with supporting their well-being and other aspects of their lives.
