At West Northamptonshire Council, we’re looking for an ambitious Procurement Officer to play a key role in shaping how we deliver high quality, value for money services. This is an exciting opportunity to join our forward-thinking central procurement and finance team, where you’ll provide expert support and advice and deliver end to end procurement services that directly support our ambitious corporate plan and strategic objectives.
What will you be doing?
As a procurement officer, you will:
- Act as a trusted adviser to key service stakeholders, influencing decisions and supporting major programmes within the People Services and Resources portfolio.
- Support the delivery of a complex and varied procurement pipeline, including the preparation of supplier events, tender documents, management of bidder clarifications, evaluation and moderation sessions.
- Support the delivery of in-house procurement training and the use of the procurement E-Tendering portal.
- Ensure our activity achieves real impact by embedding robust governance, compliance, and risk management, while also looking for opportunities to innovate and add value.
- Drive process development, incorporating the latest policy changes and legislation.
- Champion our business partner model, raising the profile of procurement and ensuring best practice is consistently applied across the organisation.

Salary range
- £39,190 - £41,797 per year
