What will you be doing?
13-month fixed term contract/secondment
An exciting opportunity for a secondment (13-month fixed term contract) with the potential to be made permanent, has arisen for a highly motivated and skilled Principal Transport Planner to join the Transport Strategy Team within the Major Capital Programme Team at Kent County Council, playing a proactive role in supporting growth across Kent.
You’ll contribute to delivering the transport strategy function which plays a central role in supporting the development of the County Council’s position on a range of strategic transport planning matters. This includes the potential development of a new Local Transport Plan aligned with a new Spatial Development Strategy in the context of the newly emerging local government geography in Kent and Medway, delivery and monitoring of the existing Local Transport Plan and supporting the delivery of major transport schemes across the County.
Qualified to NVQ Level 5 or equivalent in a related discipline, your experience includes strategic transport planning in a complex and varied environment, in the public and/or private sectors. You possess a thorough understanding of current and emerging national transport policy, economic appraisal and business case development, project management skills that enable you to deliver within agreed budget and timescales, excel in partnership working and relationship building whilst managing a busy and diverse workload.
Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Salary range
- £47,990 - £53,446 per year
