Contract Type: Permanent Working Hours: 37 per week Location: Observatory House/ Slough Hybrid (minimum 2 days per week in the office)

About the Role:
We’re looking for four proactive and skilled Principal Contracts and Procurement Officers to join Slough Borough Council’s Contracts and Procurement Team in Adults Social Care. You’ll play a key role in managing supplier relationships, overseeing contracts, and ensuring procurement processes deliver great value while meeting legal and best practice standards. This isn’t just about contracts; it’s about making a real difference for residents. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the Council to support services and transformation projects, helping to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and make services better for the people of Slough.
What You’ll Do:
• Manage a portfolio of contracts, making sure services are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
• Work with providers to encourage innovation and add value.
• Support fee negotiations to ensure fair costs while maintaining the quality of care.
• Assist with procurement, tenders, and mini-competitions.
• Deputise for the Contracts and Procurement Team Manager when needed and support the wider team in achieving goals. About You:
• Has solid experience in procurement and contract management, including KPIs monitoring and compliance with regulations. • Is confident in negotiating, analysing data, and building strong relationships. • Is digitally savvy, comfortable with Office software, video calls, and e-procurement systems.
• Writes and presents reports clearly and communicates effectively.
