About the Team and Role:
An opportunity has arisen in the Community Duty Team for a Practitioner Manager in the Community Duty Team. It is open to existing Practitioner Managers who want to broaden their experience and knowledge or Social Workers who to progress.
Our front door team is at the forefront of Adult Social Care’s service to Lambeth residents delivering comprehensive reviews and case management services to vulnerable adults. Practitioner Managers provide line management of our front-line operational services.
The successful candidate will offer management support to staff in the team and will need to demonstrate a sound knowledge base of the legislative framework which guides practice in Adult Social Care, as well as experience of managing safeguarding work. In addition, we are looking for a pro-active approach when promoting anti-discriminatory practices and supporting the council’s policy.
Working in Community Duty is fast paced and exciting. You will need to have excellent communication, negotiation and planning skills and be committed to partnership working across statutory, NHS and third sector organisations. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a management role, broaden experience and work in this team.
The PMs will ensure that statutory reviews are assigned and completed in a timely manner within expected performance targets and quality standards. This will include supporting social workers through case management, safeguarding procedures, and signing off care act assessments with a view to support them to produce high quality work that is strengths based. With support from the Team Manager, the manager will also be asked to take the lead on complaints and member’s enquiries, where required.
This is an excellent opportunity in Adult Social Care to develop management and leadership skills.
The role requires that you are a qualified social worker with significant post qualifying experience, have excellent organisational and communication skills. Some previous management experience and experience in working within fast-paced setting is preferred but not essential. You must be familiar with the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act and will receive supervision from the team manager.
We will be looking for the successful candidate to take up the post within the coming month and will ensure a seamless transition into the role and development support will be provided to the successful candidate.

Salary range
- £54,360 - £57,495 per year
