
Practice Manager
Permanent - Full time
Location: Station Road, Barkingside
A fantastic opportunity has arisen within the Children with Disabilities Service for a passionate, enthusiastic and inspirational Practice Manager to assist with managing a Children with Disabilities Team based at Station Road. This role would suit a present Practice Manager who is looking to extend their knowledge and skills, or a Senior Social Worker who is looking to progress in their development within Redbridge and may want to consider this exciting specialist role.
Role: Permanent Qualified Practice Manager QPM Scale point 19 - 21 £59,511.00 to £61,653.00 + £3k RR per annum
The purpose of the role is:
- To be responsible for the team workload ensuring that the case management of every child for whom they are responsible is up to date and progressing in their best interest.
- To deputise in the absence of the Team Manager when required.
- To ensure the workload of the team is prioritised appropriately and is distributed among Social Work team members. Developing and progressing staff, making best use of their skills and capability and ensuring the safety of each child is paramount.
- To undertake regular formal supervision meetings with Social Workers in their team, to monitor Care Plans, practice, quality and performance, taking remedial action when necessary and to undertake all required staff management responsibilities in line with Council procedures.
- To ensure communication within the Service is maintained including co-chairing regular team meetings, to brief team members about corporate and care management issues. Arranging appropriate presentations and speakers to enhance the knowledge and skills of all staff.
- To work in partnership with peers and Social Workers across the Service and represent the Service, with external agencies, including Court attendance and attendance at Child Protection conferences and EHCP reviews, ensuring the care planning meets the needs and the safety of the child.
- To chair Strategy meetings, review Panel Request forms, assist staff attending Reviews, Court, CP Conferences, Core Group Meetings and Child in Need Meetings. To ensure Care Plans are in the best interests and safety of the child.
- As the Service Area aspires to be an academy of learning, you will be expected to regularly undertake the role of Practice Educator.

The successful candidates will play a critical role in driving excellence and good outcomes for our Children and young people who are looked after, as well as managing and overseeing complex court work in SEND tribunals, public and private proceedings and Permanency Planning arrangements for children in care.
