Organisation: Leicestershire County Council

Work Location: County Hall, Glenfield, LE3 8RA

Salary: £33,129 - £35,493 per annum (pro rata for part-time)

Working Hours: 37 hours per week (part time/job-sharing opportunity is also considered)

Contract Type: Permanent

Join our Post-16 team and help young people access positive next steps after Year 11. You’ll work with young people, families, education settings and partners to support clear planning, inclusive practice and preparation for adulthood across Leicestershire.

About the Role

Support post-16 planning, transition and positive next steps. Work with young people, families, schools, colleges and providers. Help plans reflect aspirations, needs and preparation for adulthood. Identify young people at risk of disengagement, NEET or placement breakdown. Offer practical advice and contribute to reviews and quality improvement

An enhanced with barred list DBS check is required for this post.

About You

To apply for this post, you must be able to evidence in your application how you meet the following criteria:

  • Experience supporting young people, families or education settings, collaborative working within a partnership context with external agencies to enhance SEND, and experience of working with young people with SEND who are Year 9 and above.
  • Understanding of post-16 education, SEND, inclusion or PfA.
  • Clear communication, listening and problem-solving skills.
  • Good organisation and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Relevant Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience, with willingness to undertake further qualifications and training as necessary.
  • Safeguarding and inclusion awareness.
  • Ability to travel across Leicestershire.
