
Policy Manager
We are looking to recruit a dynamic and ambitious Policy Manager within the Strategy and Policy team to take forward and support key priorities for the Department and Council as a whole. Working directly with the Assistant Director of Strategy, Policy and LGR and in a diverse team, you will be responsible for leading the authorities Policy and Partnership function.
Responsible for supporting Local Government Reorganisation and leading on strategic policy development and corporate policy oversight, you will be at the forefront of translating the aspirations and the ambition of the Council and its partners into action.
You will need to be able to hit the ground running, having a detailed understanding of the policy issues affecting local government and knowledge of the challenges facing the Council, partners and local communities. You will also need to have experience of developing creative approaches and solutions to new and emerging policy developments.
Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have extensive knowledge of national, regional and local policy issues affecting local government, and the ability to lead and respond within a rapidly changing agenda. You must be a dedicated, versatile and self-motivated individual who has substantial experience of policy development within a Local Authority. Displaying a high level of tact, diplomacy, drive and enthusiasm, with outstanding communication and report writing skills, you will have the experience and ability to motivate people at all levels to make decisions in a complex and emerging policy environment.

Salary range
- £54,867 - £60,971 per year
