Hours

• 6 hours per week to support with meal preparation and household tasks.
• Additional 8 hours per week to provide cover during the absence of another regular carer.

Rate of Pay

£13.22 per hour

Job Purpose

A reliable and caring Personal Assistant is required to support an individual to maintain their independence and wellbeing at home. The role focuses on weekly meal preparation.

Cover duties include shopping, practical household support, and maintaining a safe, clean, and organised home environment.

No personal care is required for this role.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Food Preparation

• Prepare meals and snacks in accordance with the employer's preferences.
• Support with batch cooking and meal planning.
• Assist with storing and organising food safely.
• Help maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.

Shopping and Community Support

• Assist with grocery shopping and collecting essential items.
• Support with putting shopping away.
• Accompany the employer on local shopping trips if required.

Additional Cover Support

• Provide up to 8 hours per week cover when the regular carer is on leave or unavailable.
• Ensure continuity of support and household management during these periods.

Household Support

• Help keep the home clean, tidy, safe, and dust-free.
• General cleaning duties, including dusting, vacuuming, and tidying.
• Laundry and ironing.
• Changing bed linen if required.
• Ensuring household areas remain organised and accessible.

Person Specification

Essential

• Trustworthy, reliable, and punctual.
• Friendly and approachable.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Respect for confidentiality and privacy.
• Understanding of the importance of maintaining independence.

Desirable

• Previous experience as a Personal Assistant, Carer, Support Worker, or Domestic Assistant.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Experience in meal preparation and household management.

Additional Information

• This role is home-based.
• No personal care duties are involved.
• The successful applicant will be required to provide references.
• An Enhanced DBS check may be required.
