An opportunity has arisen within the Children, Young People & Families Directorate for an Operational Supervisor within the Blaenau Gwent Catering Service. The position is fixed term for 6 months from the time of employment.
The officer will provide efficient and cost-effective supervision of the Authority’s catering establishments, assisting and liaising with Head Teachers and Managers of sites.
To support the Client function, transfer of equipment, stock and emergency meals and access equipment needs and arranging provision of equipment.
Responsible for quality inspections and Food Safety inspections and to monitor HACCP in all catering facilities.
To audit stock levels and assist with staffing levels within all catering establishments.
To conduct on-site induction training and implement training programs for catering staff as and when required.
The successful candidate will hold a GCSE grade C or above in Maths, English and ICT, Food Safety Level 3 qualification and 5 years’ experience within the catering industry.
You will be prepared to work additional hours or at any reasonable time of day as required to ensure the smooth running of the catering unit.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. A comprehensive pre-employment screening process will be undertaken which will include an Enhanced Disclosure with Child Barred List.
