    Your new role?

    Primarily working with disabled people and their carers in their own homes, you will assist in the delivery of Occupational Therapy services. You will carry out strength-based assessments under the direction of an Occupational Therapist. Identifying outcomes and implementing agreed action plans. Interventions will include recommending adaptations, equipment provision, making recommendations for rehousing, recommending rehabilitation programmes and teaching clients new techniques of daily living. You will also participate in the Occupational Therapy intake duty process

    You will have a knowledge and understanding of how health conditions and the ageing process impact on the performance of everyday activities, providing support and advice to clients, families/carers with long-term conditions.

    You will develop knowledge and understanding of standard structural adaptations and will be able to identify when more specialist input is required from an Occupational Therapist.

    Who is the person summary:

    You will have good literacy and numeracy skills or qualifications in Maths and English, GCSE or equivalent, with an understanding of the role of Occupational Therapy in Adult Social care. You will have experience of working with people who have care and support needs. You will be flexible and responsive to changing needs and demands whilst organising and managing your workload and time effectively. With excellent customer service skills, you will be able to communicate clearly and sensitively to a wide range of people in a wide range of formats

    With knowledge of Adult Social Care eligibility criteria and an understanding of adult safeguarding policy and practice, you will have the resilience and adaptability to respond to competing demands and changing priorities.

    The ability to travel around the city and gain access to a variety of venues is an essential requirement.
